Authentication

To connect GitHub to Orchestra you will need:

  • permissions to create a PAT with access to the repositories you want to connect

Instructions

Create Personal Access Token (PAT)

Orchestra connects to GitHub using a Personal Access Token (PAT). Orchestra recommends creating your token with restricted access to GitHub. To create a PAT:

  1. Go to your GitHub account settings.

  2. Navigate to the Developer Settings section.

  3. Click on the Personal Access Tokens > Fine-grained tokens.

  4. Click on Generate new token.

  5. Give your token a memorable name (e.g. orchestra-access).

  6. Select the expiration of your token.

  7. Select 'Only select repositories' and choose the repositories you want to connect to Orchestra.

  8. Select the permissions for your token. Click 'Repository permissions' and grant the token 'Actions' > 'Read and write' permission.

  9. Click 'Generate token'.
