We classify a transformation tool as an Orchestration tool that is responsible for using existing data assets (in the form of sources or ingested data) to create aggregated, enriched datasets in either Data Lakes, Data Warehouses or some other Data Store.

Examples would include dbt Cloud or Coalesce.
